Albertans asked for input on province's energy royalty regime

Website and public meetings part of royalty review

Edmonton...Albertans are being encouraged to make submissions to the expert panel currently reviewing the province's royalty and tax regime for energy resources.

Call for Delegate - City of Edmonton Oil & Gas Policy Stakeholder Advisory Committee

Introduction

The AEN has received a request from the City of Edmonton to identify a delegate to serve on the Oil & Gas Policy Stakeholder Advisory Committee.

Land use conflict between oil and gas activity and urban development is increasing. The City of Edmonton is assembling a multi-stakeholder committee to provide advice on how the city should manage, communicate, and otherwise deal with oil and gas applications within Edmonon city limits. Encana Ignores CFB Suffield Rules and Damages Sensitive Wetlands at Suffield

Encana failed to follow the rules of Canadian Forces Base Suffield for protection of wetlands while drilling, a coalition of environmental groups has learned. The company drilled a well in a known wetland near the federally protected Suffield National Wildlife Area, and refused to remove it until given an ultimatum by the Base. The groups are asking the federal government to prohibit all new industrial activities in the Suffield National Wildlife Area.
