Sensitive Milk River Ridge Grasslands Open to Oil Exploration

Alberta Wilderness Association (AWA) has learned that sensitive rough fescue and mixed grasslands on the Milk River Ridge are being opened up to exploration activity in the Alberta Bakken oil play. She is going to speak about Trout Unlimited Canada’s Yellow Fish Road program - a fun and interactive water education program that explores our role in maintaining strong and healthy freshwater ecosystems. The program builds on a culture of caring for our waters throughout Canada that drives choices and actions to be a part of a positive change for clean and healthy water. The Watershed Stewardship Grant (WSG) Program provides funding to support collaborative, community-based stewardship efforts consistent with the principles, goals and outcomes of Alberta’s Water for Life strategy. Grants up to $7,500 are issued once per year to eligible groups on a per-project basis.
