Every summer, the Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC) hires post-secondary students to spend four months assisting with various aspects of delivering its conservation program. In 2019, the Nature Conservancy of Canada will be hiring one communications intern to work for the Alberta Region out of its Edmonton office.

The communications intern will assist the communications manager with a wide variety of outreach, event coordination and promotional activities. Working independently and with NCC staff, the communications intern will help to develop regional content for NCC’s digital and print publications, promote NCC’s regional activities in communities across Alberta and contribute to event coordination and public relations activities.

This position is a great opportunity for the successful candidate to apply classroom theories and skills to practical and hands-on work. Tasks such as researching stories, conducting interviews, writing, editing and proofreading for a variety of media, as well as assisting with media outreach and event promotion will allow the intern to apply and develop skills that are highly valued in the communications and public relations sectors of the workforce.
