The Solar Energy Society of Alberta is the trusted community resource for the widespread understanding and use of solar energy in Alberta. SESA is a non-profit, educational organization working since 1976 to advance the awareness, understanding, and implementation of solar and other renewable energy technologies, as well as policies and techniques for energy conservation and management.
Position Overview
The SESA Program Facilitator Position is a minimum six-month contract position, with the possibility of extension, providing specific duties to facilitate and support SESA’s existing education programs.
Reporting
The Program Facilitator reports to the SESA Executive Director.
Position Responsibilities
The Program Facilitator will be responsible for the successful administration and execution of SESA’s existing educational programs.

The operation of SESA’s existing classes and workshops
- Including reserving and setting up rooms, organizing catering, preparing handouts, processing registrations and evaluations, etc.

The operation of SESA’s free public seminars.
- Including reserving and setting up rooms, organizing catering, helping with live broadcasts, coordinating volunteers, etc.

Works with SESA staff to plan and carry out SESA’s Solar Trade Show.
- Including publicity, booth & workshop set up, working with volunteers, etc.
- Additional office duties and projects as required.
- Possibility of administering larger projects.

Additional Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of solar energy and the solar industry
- Experience with project planning
- Familiarity with Macintosh operating systems
- Basic graphic design skills.
- Willingness to learn other software packages such as Drupal and CiviCRM
Working Conditions
- Six month contract, 24 hour per week.
- Working from the SESA office.
- Work hours are generally flexible; however, evening hours and weekend work is required on occasion, particularly around events.
- Wage dependent upon qualifications and experience with a range of $20-$22/Hr.
- After six months, a staff performance review and an assessment of SESA’s needs may provide the opportunity of further employment.
- Successful candidate to start immediately.
