Who is your environmental hero? "Do you know someone who is doing great work in protecting, preserving, enhancing or sustaining our environment? "
Please consider nominating them (or yourself!) for an Emerald Award, which celebrates the outstanding achievements of Albertans committed to stewarding our environment. Information and the online nominations form can be found at www.emeraldfoundation.ca and nominations close on Friday, February 26 at 4:00 p.m.
This year, there are nine categories of recognition:

- Education: non-formal
- Education: school or classroom
- Community Group
- Nonprofit Association
- Individual
- Youth
- Emerald Challenge: Alberta's Oilsands
Through my involvement on the Board of Directors of the Alberta Emerald Foundation, I have seen first-hand the impact of this unique program. By celebrating environmental excellence at all levels and sharing these stories, we are helping to inspire action among more Albertans. Please help us to recognize and celebrate our environmental leaders by nominating them for an Emerald Award.
