Connecting Alberta’s environmental groups

We are a network of individuals and groups working together on shared concerns. AEN members include individuals and representatives from member groups that connect, collaborate and share information.

The AEN is a link between the environmental community and government, industry, the media and all Albertans.

Join the network

Albertans and environmental groups are welcome to join the AEN as members – there are memberships for both individuals and groups. Members contribute to preserving and protecting Alberta’s environment by sharing information and collaborating on shared issues. Learn more about becoming a member of the AEN.

The AEN supports an inclusive and diverse environmental community for all Albertans.

Albertans' Love of Wild Alberta Inspires Murals at Calgary Tower

Alberta Wilderness Association

News Release: February 28, 2006

Hidden inside the dim stairwells of the Calgary Tower lies a very special treasure created by Albertans, inspired by their love of our wild landscapes. For the past three years Albertans have created murals of brilliant colour and design that can be seen only once a year during Alberta Wilderness Association's annual fundraiser Climb for Wilderness.

"The thought of giant murals spiraling up the Tower's stairwell is exciting," says Natalie Marsh, a Calgary artist who is one of this year's judges. "The inspiration that goes into the art is contagious for the climbers." So far, 45 of the 96 landings have been painted with a delightfully diverse array of designs by both amateur and professional artists. Read More
