The Alberta Environmental Network (AEN) connects Albertans and environmental groups that are dedicated to preserving and protecting Alberta’s environment. As a non-profit and non-partisan organization, the AEN supports collaboration of the environmental community throughout the province.

We are a network of individuals and groups working together on shared concerns. AEN members include individuals and representatives from member groups that connect, collaborate and share information.

The AEN is a link between the environmental community and government, industry, the media and all Albertans.

Join the network

Albertans and environmental groups are welcome to join the AEN as members – there are memberships for both individuals and groups. What to Expect from the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP/MOP 1)

Did you know that at the end of November, Canada will host the 11th Annual United Nations Climate Change Conference in Montreal?

This is the first meeting of the Parties since the Kyoto Protocol entered into force. Governments from around the world will assemble to negotiate the details of Kyoto, including the rules and regulations of climate policy. Meanwhile, representatives from industry, business, youth groups, the scientific community and environmental organizations will come together at parallel events to discuss opportunities and potential solutions to climate change. Public Figures Encourage Premier to Proceed with Park As Tribute to Andy Russell & As a Centennial Legacy

Robert Bateman, the Right Honourable Joe Clark, Sid Marty, Farley Mowat and Dr. David Schindler have sent an open letter to Alberta Premier Ralph Klein encouraging him and the Alberta Government to proceed with the establishment of the Andy Russell - I'tai sah kòp Wildland Park in memory of Andy Russell and his wife Kay, and in recognition of the Piikani First Nation. The proposed, integrated Wildland and Provincial Park encompasses the Castle wilderness, which is in view of the Russell's home and located within the public lands of the Crowsnest Forest Reserve, on the north boundary of Waterton Lakes National Park in southwest Alberta.
