Watershed Moment

August 7, 2021 - 10:00am to 12:30pm

From the Calgary Climate Hub website:

Your Hub is proud to announce the next of our outdoor co-creation summer event series! "Watershed Moment" will take Hub members on a guided Climate Adaptation and Naturalization tour of Dale Hodges Park, which went from a gravel pit to green space that treats storm water and is also one off the largest public art installations in North America. This decade-long project was influenced by the need for more climate resilient design, (something that became apparent after the 2013 Flood) and it will be co-hosted by the fellow that got it done at City of Calgary, former Parks Urban Conservation Lead Chris Manderson!

Join your fellow Hub members in learning how Calgary can turn climate vulnerabilities into opportunities and learn how to talk about wetlands, urban conservation and greenspace creation to different audiences including communities, voters and city councillors so we can encourage them to do it more!

Watershed Moment takes place on Saturday morning on August 7th at 10am at Dale Hodges Park and goes until around 1230 pm (so bring a lunch!). This is going to be a fun opportunity to hangout with your fellow Hubsters in a really cool new public space while learning how to advocate for more great projects like this one!
