RDRWA Fall Forum: Watershed Health

Rob de Pruis, Director, Consumer and Industry Relations from the Insurance Bureau of Canada will be talking about their work to protect natural and green infrastructure.

Matt Dow, Policy Analyst at Rural Municipalities of Alberta (RMA) will be highlighting changes to the Municipal Government Act and the new Intermunicipal Collaboration Framework. He will introduce their new ICF toolkit and how it can be used for watershed planning within a municipality.

Claude Eckert, Hydrogeologist & Natalia Grebneva, Water Technologist from the Alberta Energy Regulator (AER) will present on the process AER undertakes when assessing water allocation applications, and the factors considered when issuing water licences.

There will be a presentation on some of the work recently undertaken at the RDRWA plus an update on some key issues and programs that affect our watershed.

We are pleased to announce that thanks to the generous sponsorship of the Town of Sylvan Lake and the Insurance Bureau of Canada our 2018 Fall Forum will be a free event for the first 40 registrants (we are just asking for a $5.00 deposit to secure numbers for catering).
