Music for the Wild: Emily Triggs & Opening Act Lonni Robley

February 8, 2020 - 7:30pm

Emily Triggs is a bred-in-the-bone roots musician, at one of her creative peaks. Since the release of this summer’s album Middletown, Emily has played the Calgary & Vancouver folk festivals; two major Calgary folk Clubs (Rocky Mountain, Nickelodeon); and many other venues in Quebec and Alberta. You may have seen Emily at Music for the Wild as a member of The Magnolia Buckskin—it is a real treat to have her focus on her own music here on our stage.

Emily will share her undeniably authentic style of songwriting and arrangement that reflects the world of music she grew up in. The youngest of five growing up in a mix of English and French culture, it was in living room jam sessions with local and visiting musicians that Emily learned the history and art of lyrical composition and performance. Her songs are double edged, unapologetic and a unique sound in the genre of folk/roots. For more info see

Lonni Robley, is a singer songwriter originally from rural Southern Alberta, now residing in Calgary with her wonderful husband and three sweet children. Now that her three little rascals are getting a bit older, she is finding more freedom to get back to her music, which is a true passion for her. You may notice some Celtic flavours, along with styles of Patty Griffin, Nanci Griffith, James Taylor, a bit of pop and some country music.

Lonni is a warm, engaging performer whose original songs paint an attention-grabbing picture. She fills the room with a low key charm and lures you into the great stories in her songs.
