Step It Up Alberta Call to Action!

Feb 9 2009 - 7:00pm

Step It Up Alberta is a non-partisan group calling for leadership on environmental issues from the people who can make the most difference: governments, corporations, and institutions.

We want to see real action against climate change:

  • an absolute cap on greenhouse gas emissions,
  • a commitment to significant reductions in the short and long term, &
  • investment in a carbon-conscious economy.

Please join us as we work on the following three campaigns:

  • Green Fingers: documenting citizen support for environmental issues through video and photos
  • We Didn't Wait Until 2020: A write-in campaign to criticize the Alberta government's long timeline for reducing emissions and to ask for investment in alternative energy.
  • Community Leadership: A package of resources to facilitate environmental awareness in community settings, beginning with faith-based groups
