Youth Environmental Project Grants

Two programs supported by Alberta Environment that offer funding to young people interested in designing their own environmental sustainability projects.

The first, Mission:Sustainable, is limited to full-time post-secondary students. The second, YES Grants, are available to any youth aged 16 to 25. Read more »

Youth Environmental Stewardship (YES) Grant Program

Application Forms Now AvailableAlberta Ecotrust FoundationAre you or do you know an engaged youth or group of youth that are keen to turn their ideas for environmental stewarship into action? Alberta youth ages 16 - 25 can now apply to Alberta Ecotrust for up to $5,000 of support for an environmental stewardship project in their community.The application deadline is December 10, 2007. Royal Roads University Workshop leader: Dr. Richard Kool, Associate ProfessorEnvironmental Education & Communication Program Dr. Kool will lead presentations on a set of three themes:

  • "Nature Deficit Disorder": what do we know about how children connect with nature and what we can do to encourage that connection.
  • Hope and despair in environmental education and communication: the psychological impact of the language that we use.
  • Changing Behaviours: the use of persuasive communication and the power of social norms.
