Jasper is our national park not a theme park!

Canada’s treasured Jasper National Park could be on its way to gaining a theme park-like attraction. Brewster Travel Canada, owned by a US-based company, wants to blast out the side of the cliff beside the Icefields Parkway to build the “Glacier Discovery Walk” – a massive infrastructure “skywalk”, and charge people who wish to admire the view.  Read more »

Too Many Roads Mean Too Many Grizzly Deaths. Help Now!

Fact: Alberta's grizzly bears are listed as a Threatened species; there are fewer than 700 left.
Fact: Most grizzly deaths occur because there are too many people in their habitat - too many roads and trails criss-cross lands that grizzly bears need to survive.
Fact: The Alberta government is not adhering to its own road density thresholds. In fact, the density of roads and other linear features in grizzly habitat is up to 4 times greater than thresholds set in Alberta's 
Fact: We need your voice to help protect Alberta grizzly habitat.

Moratorium on motorized access necessary for grizzly survival

CALGARY -  Industrial and public motorized access routes in grizzly bear habitat greatly exceed thresholds recommended in the Alberta government’s official Grizzly Bear Recovery Plan. This issue is so critical that several Alberta Conservation organizations are calling for an immediate moratorium on new roads. Read more »
