Documentary screening: Blowin’ in the Wind

Location:
Edmonton

Description:
Depleted Uranium (DU) is used in modern munitions. It is very effective at what it is used for (pleasing the military) and highly toxic with continuing effects. Once a DU weapon is exploded, radioactive particles are released into the environment to be carried away on the wind. They are inhaled (or ingested) and then cause residual problems and death for ‘collateral’ victims. Imagine a bomb that if it doesn’t kill on impact it will kill the ‘enemy’ slowly due to radiation poisoning. This documentary is very informative and will demand of us to ask “Is the Canadian military using these types of weapons? Are they testing them inCanada?” Come join us. Read more »
