Make climate change an issue this election

Voters Taking Action on Climate Change (VTACC) wants to make sure that climate change is an issue this election. We know that the public cares, and we want to make sure that politicians and the media do too. We have created a web based map of Canada where people can express their concern with a visual post in their region. We appreciate if you would consider distributing the message below to colleagues, members and supporters.

We want to do all we can to make sure that global warming is a key issue in this election, and we've just come up with a way for you to tell candidates that people in your community care about climate change - by posting a sign on our web based climate action map of Canada.

To make an entry go to our website at http://www.vtacc.org/ and click on the map icon on the right hand side. There are easy-to-use instructions at the bottom explaining how you can post your own message. (Magnify the map to see all the entries in your neighbourhood and click on one to read a message, see the photo and so on).

A basic entry with a short message takes a few minutes to complete. You can express your concerns about global warming, describe what steps you've taken to reduce emissions in your own life, tell politicians and candidates what you want them to do about the problem. The more personal and heartfelt the better. It only takes a few more minutes to add photos, video clips and links to websites, blogs, etc. Be creative! Share your concern and let others know about interesting climate action initiatives in your community, and inspire us all with your ideas and words.

We will let candidates and the media know about the map once it has good input from people like you. Together, we can make it clear that global warming is an issue of great concern to people across the country.

We hope that you will spread word of this initiative widely so we can cover the map in messages!

Thanks,

Quincy & Andrea and the VTACC team.
