Kick the CO2 Habit - Celebrate World Environment Day!

Commemorated each year on June 5th, World Environment Day (WED) is one of the principal vehicles through which the UN Environment Program stimulates worldwide awareness of the environment and enhances political attention and action. Under the slogan “Kick the Habit! Towards a Low Carbon Economy, WED 2008 will highlight resources and initiatives that promote low carbon economies and life-styles. Several organizations in cities across Canada will be holding activities to raise awareness about this year’s theme. For ideas on how you can celebrate, have a look at the World Environment Day Alphabet – “A” is for “Adopt a 'green' way of life”!
