Food security issues gaining momentum

Edmonton Small Press Association

FYI, the latest issue of Our Voice street news hit the streets last month. The new issue is themed around Food Security, and includes articles on the impacts of meat production on the environment, a profile on the Growing Food Security Alberta network, sidebars about collective kitchens, GMOs, pesticides, grass-painting (!) and more, a huge environmental resources section, and a cool eco-art profile.

If you live in Edmonton and are in the downtown or Whyte Ave area, please consider buying a copy from one of our vendors, all of whom are either low-income or homeless and sell the paper as a job skills and income-supplement initiative. Papers are sold by donation, not by set price. Please buy from badged vendors only.

If anyone on the AEN list outside of Edmonton (or even the regular vending areas) would like us to send you some free copies, please send me your name and mailing address (off-list).

cheers,

L.
