Alberta Biodiversity Monitoring Initiative
Background:
The AEN has been contacted to identify a qualified ENGO delegate to serve as the ENGO Director of the newly incorporated Alberta Biodiversity Monitoring Initiative (ABMI).Governed by a multi-stakeholder board of directors, the ABMI is a rigorous science-based initiative that is being developed to monitor and report on biodiversity status and trends throughout the province of Alberta. It was previously known as the prototype project, the Alberta Biodiversity Monitoring Program.The directors of the ABMI will be leaders in their sectors, bringing perspective to the board table and maintaining good communications with their constituency. Further, the directors will serve as the voices to help translate the ABMI's biodiversity monitoring data into policyrecommendations to resource managers.The appointed director's organization will be required to become a member of the ABMI.
Time Commitment:
4 one-day meetings per year.
Expenses & Honoraria:
Expenses and honoraria will be available according to ABMI policy
Selection Criteria:
- familiarity with directorship responsibilities and multi-stakeholder processes or initiatives
- interest/knowledge in environmental monitoring, especially related to terrestrial issues
