Ganga : From the Ground Up 2006</strong></p><p><em>Director Yves Sadurni Dupont</em></p><p>For centuries, the Ganges River has provided nourishment for one of the largest populations in the world. But in the age of globalization, the river is threatened. Ganga highlights the major threats to the Ganges River - the Tehri Dam project and the displacement of over 100 000 Indian villagers; the attempt to privatize the water of the Ganges and the persistent problem of pollution in the river. The film serves as a microcosmic picture of the impending global scarcity of water, and reveals the clashes between interests.</p><p><em>45 min</em></p><p><strong>2. Water Filter for the Third World 2005</strong></p><p>David Manz, the Biosand Water Filter inventor residing here in Calgary explains the filter and shares his thoughts on its potential. CAWST personnel who train people to install this innovation describe the filter and its impact in the developing world. </p><p><em>7min.</em></p><p><strong>3. Water Warriors 2006</strong></p><p><em>Director Liz Miller</em></p><p>Water Warriors is the story of one community&#39;s determination to fight the seemingly inevitable path of water privatization.</p><p><em>6 min.</em></p><p><strong>Post film conversation with:</strong></p><ol style="list-style-type: lower-alpha"><li>Shauna Curry from the <a href="http://www.cawst.org">Centre for Affordable Water and Sanitation Technology</a>. CAWST is a Calgary-based NGO that provides technical training and consulting services to organizations working to improve access to safe water and sanitation for the poor in developing countries, <a href="http://www.cawst.org">www.cawst.org</a>.</li><li>Jeff Adams from <a href="http://www.samaritanspurse.ca">Samaritan&#39;s Purse</a>, an international Christian relief organization. SP with Canadian headquarters in Calgary, builds, installs and maintains Bio Sand Water Filters.
