Duration: 6-month part-time contract (17 hours per week) with 3-month probationary period and possibility of contract renewal with full-time contract

The Alberta Green Economy Network (AGEN) is a network of ~45 labour, non-profit, community, green business, and First Nations partners that works to support Alberta’s transition to a low-carbon economy. AGEN coordinates the joint efforts of its diverse network of members, supporters and allies to run public education and advocacy programs, submit policy recommendations to municipal and provincial government bodies, and foster relationships between diverse stakeholders within the green economy. Executive Director, Watershed Adaptation and Resilience

Play a critical role in advancing flood and drought mitigation strategies for all Albertans.

You will provide strategic leadership in the planning, design and implementation of adaptation and mitigation programs and initiatives to protect communities from the effects of water-related events.  With a focus on integration and alignment, you will guide your multi-disciplinary team in working with other ministries, municipalities, industry and stakeholders to identify risks, manage issues and develop coordinated plans and projects to provide consistent mitigation and resiliency across the province.  Key accountabilities also include overseeing the Transboundary Water Secretariat, the administration of grant programs and the provision of information to Albertans on current and future river basin conditions.
