Watershed Ambassador Breakfast

Jan 18 2013 - 7:30am - 8:45pm

Flow into the new year with a hot buffet breakfast and a presentation on monitoring Alberta's biodiversity!

Jim Herbers is Director at the Alberta Biodiversity Monitoring Institute. Jim will talk about the Institute and biodiversity monitoring in the Red Deer River watershed. He'll also tell us about the most recently released GIS Inventory of the "Provincial Human Footprint" (2007 and 2010) which includes multiple layers including urban, rural and linear features as well as agricultural and managed forest feature classes. This type of GIS information is important for land-use planning, watershed planning and cumulative effects assessment.

And of course, we'll recognize the first recipients of the Watershed Ambassador award for 2013!
