Sustainability Awareness Week —Climate Change Teach-In

In conjunction with “Sustainability Awareness Week” and in support of the International Day of Climate Action (350.org), the University of Alberta’s Office of Sustainability presents a cross-disciplinary Climate Change Teach-In. Highlighting research, philosophies and warnings related to global climate change, this plenary will bring together pre-eminent scholars and students on campus to deliver a call to intellect and action on global warming and how we, both individually and collectively, can work together to address climate change.

Confirmed speakers include Colin Soskolne (School of Public Health, Academic Coordinator for the Office of Sustainability), Ryan Saunders (Ph.D Candidate - Faculty of Engineering, Founder of U of A Energy Club), Elizabeth Lange (Educational Policy Studies, Research interests in Adult Sustainability Education), Brenda Parlee (Dept. Rural Economy/Faculty Native Studies, Canada Research Chair in Social Responses to Ecological Change), Dr. Arturo Sanchez-Azofeifa (Dept. of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences, Director of Center for Earth Observation Sciences).
