SESCI Talk: Net Zero 2 — Edmonton's Mill Creek House

Jan 13 2009 - 7:00pm

The Future of Cold Climate Home Construction

by Conrad Nobert

Free presentation and discussion. Free refreshments at 6:30 pm

Net Zero Energy Buildings create as much or more energy than they need. A lot has been learned from the first net zero energy building recently built in Edmonton. The second home, presently under construction, will have many improvements and added innovative features. It will be simpler, less expensive and have a greater passive solar heating contribution. It will incorporate innovative adjustable photovoltaic awnings to increase production and control overheating.

Mr. Nobert will be discussing the philosophy, design, and construction of this landmark demonstration of what housing can be in Alberta.
