Peace Watershed Planning and Advisory Council (WPAC) Formation Workshop

Oct 28 2010 (All day) - Oct 29 2010 (All day)

Alberta Environment is pleased to invite you to a workshop on the formation of a Peace River Watershed Planning and Advisory Council (WPAC) as described in Alberta’s Water for Life Strategy. The two-day workshop will take place in Peace River on October 28-29, 2010. This workshop is the initial step in the development process of a WPAC that will report on the state of the Peace Watershed, lead in watershed planning and stewardship, and make recommendations to decision makers within the basin.

This workshop will bring together stakeholders and Aboriginal communities to share information and begin discussion about a Peace WPAC. Time will also be provided at the workshop for stakeholders/community members to meet with other members of their sector/community to self-select one or two volunteers to participate on a WPAC Initiators Group.

Attached to this email you will find an Invitation, Information Paper on Peace River WPAC Formation, and also a list of organizations and communities invited to this workshop. If you would like to participate in this event, please RSVP by Friday, October 1, 2010 by email to Lori at Lori [dot] Adams [at] gov [dot] ab [dot] ca or by FAX at 780-427-7824.

We invite you to play a key role in moving Water for Life and the WPAC development process forward in the Peace River Watershed by actively participating in this Workshop.
