Lesser Slave Lake Regional Watershed Conference: Water is Life

The Smith Environmental Association will sponsor a watershed conference that is being organized by the Athabasca Keepers of the Watershed Council to be held in Slave Lake, Alberta, Saturday, October 10 from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Slave Lake Native Friendship Center.

The event will be called the "Lesser Slave Lake Regional Watershed Conference" and entitled "Water Is Life".

The design of the conference is to open with an Elder's prayer and proceed with teachings of traditional wisdom, testimonials, and principles of treaty obligations. This will be followed with presentations from comunity and provincial non-governmental organizations and recognized experts of watersheds and aquatic science. A public roundtable discussion of the day's presentations will be the final segment of the day's programmed agenda.

Registration is free and lunch will be served.
