Energy Efficiency – Implications for Nonprofits

Aug 31 2016 - 8:00am - 12:00pm

On August 31, 2016 the Edmonton Chamber of Voluntary Organizations and The Pembina Institute will host a half-day session focused on the implications of energy efficiency options and their implications for the nonprofit sector.

As community leaders, the nonprofit sector has the opportunity to be a role model in curbing energy consumption and lowering emissions. At the same time, there is concern within the sector about the potential impact Alberta’s Carbon Levy may have on operating expenses.

This session will provide information about energy efficiency initiatives and programs implemented in other centres in North America. You will also learn about the latest developments from the Alberta Climate Change Office; specifically its’ plan to involve nonprofits in helping to shape energy efficiency programs.

Members of the Alberta Energy Efficiency Panel will be in attendance to hear your thoughts and ideas on the types of programs and supports that would help nonprofit organizations transition to a low-carbon economy.

Register early. Seating is limited.
