ELC's Green Regs & Ham Breakfast Event

Oct 6 2015 - 7:00am - 9:00am

Is Canada ready for the Paris Climate Conference in December 2015?

Join us for a lively discussion on green regulations over a hearty breakfast of eggs and ham!

The ELC is excited to host a very timely discussion on what Canada and Alberta need to do to show their strong climate commitments in view of the upcoming Paris Climate Conference in December 2015. This global event has been touted as the "world’s last best chance to reach an agreement on cutting carbon emissions”.

The ELC is pleased to have Ms. Julie Gelfand, Commissioner of the Environment and Sustainable Development in the Office of the Auditor General, as its guest speaker. Ms. Gelfand will be presenting highlights of her report on the effectiveness of Canada’s efforts towards greenhouse gas emissions reductions and its environmental monitoring of oil sands development in Alberta.

The ELC is also pleased to have a distinguished set of panelists who will share their views on what Canada's and Alberta's climate strategies should be in the lead up to Paris. Our panelists include:

  • Prof. Nigel Bankes, current Chair of Natural Resources Law and Professor of the University of Calgary Faculty of Law
  • Benjamin Thibault, Director of the Pembina Institute's Electricity Program

Limited tickets available. Click here to register for the event now!
