Edmonton Earth Day Festival

Celebrate living green in Edmonton, at the 22nd Annual Edmonton Earth Day Festival! Free admission includes entertainment, workshops, information, ideas, activities to help people of all ages "Walk a Little Lighter on the Earth".  

Kids, explore the bicycle-powered children's stage with music by Michelle Boudreau and Friends, games and hands-on fun throughout the day in the outdoor Eco-Adventure zone (with bug crafts, pond critters, compose capers, recycling challenges, sun scopes, planting activities, games & more!) At 4pm, join the Kids Parade to see Peter and Mary's "Planet Kindness Show" on the main stage, featuring environmentally themed original music, magic and ventriloquist puppetry. Wrap up the day with a drum circle and Planet dance party from 5-6!

Grownups see the environmental, conservation and social action exhibits in Blatchford Hangar. Visit our Green Living workshops stage throughout the afternoon, featuring topics ranging from raw foods to eco-friendly renovations. Victoria Armstrong's "Tree of Life" painting is the Edmonton Earth Day poster image this year. Additional Nature and fantasy paintings /sculptures by our featured Eco-artist will be displayed. Also see the multi-media installation "Out of the Blue and Into the Red" by Olivia Joy Kachman.

Outside, see the Solar Energy display, Alberta's first plug-in hybrid, straw bale housing, and Student Initiated Sustainability projects, from the High school students of the SLISE program. 

Earth Day Unplugged Main Stage includes music by John Spearn, Global Country + an Earth Day inspired original dance performance by the Viva Contemporary Dance group. Wrap it up with some delicious food from one of our body-friendly food vendors and you have an Earth Day Festival that everyone can enjoy.

ETS is providing a free shuttle that runs every ½ hour from South Campus Transit Center. Limited parking available at Fort Edmonton Park, and free bike lock up will be provided by the Edmonton Bicycle Commuters. Food Bank items welcomed. ERA is also collecting old cell phones and laptops for recycle.
