EcoLiving Fair + Workshops & Seedy Saturday

The demand for sustainable living solutions continues to grow in Central Alberta so ReThink Red Deer is proud to host the second annual EcoLiving Fair & Workshops!

The 2014 event is presented by Big Bend Market and will be a showcase of dozens of exhibitors providing products and services for sustainable and eco-friendly living plus the opportunity for you and your family to take in a workshop (or two!) to build practical skills for thriving in the 21st Century!

Supporting sponsors include:

  • Big Bend Market - Presenting Sponsor

  • USC Canada (Bauta Family Seed Initiative),
  • Sunny 94FM / KRAZE 101.3FM,

Prize Sponsors:

  • Earth Works Farm
  • The Green Pantry.ca
  • Taimi Soil Projects
  • ReThink Red Deer

    More to come!

The list of confirmed exhibitors and workshops is posted below. Please purchase your workshop tickets at the event registration desk on March 1.

The event will feature ReThink's successful Seedy Saturday event and the launch of an official Community Seed Bank for Central Alberta. Seedy Saturday is an opportunity to buy and swap open-pollinated and heirloom variety seeds plus learn valuable skills for building local, resilient homes and communities, aka "urban homesteading"!

EcoLiving will also present the first Green Drinks Red Deer! Green Drinks is a lively mixture of people from non-government organizations (NGOs), academia, government and business. It's a great way of catching up with people you know and also for making new contacts. Everyone invites someone else along, so there’s always a different crowd, making Green Drinks an organic, self-organising network. These events are very simple and unstructured, but many people have found employment, made friends, developed new ideas, done deals and had moments of serendipity.

Access to the Fair is free but there is a fee for participating in the workshops - $5 each or $20 for an unlimited pass (cash only please). The workshops open at 10:00am and run until 5:00pm.
