Celebrate Wild Alberta this Earth Day

Celebrate Wild Alberta this year at the Calgary Tower and the Best Earth Day Event in the West: The Alberta Wilderness Association’s 22nd Annual Climb & Run for Wilderness on April 20. People from babies in backpacks to 96 years old will be reaching new heights in support of Alberta’s wilderness legacy.

Events start at 8 a.m. and include:

  • Run for Wilderness – Run one kilometre around the base of the Tower then sprint 802 steps to the top! This is the best season warm-up for racers of all ages.
  • Climb for Wilderness – Climb the Calgary Tower’s 802 stairs once or as many as the record breaking 31 repetitions in 5 hours.
  • Wild Alberta Expo – Discover and learn about Alberta’s wild places and wildlife. There are great prizes, musicians, face painters and wildlife mascots throughout the day for the whole family to enjoy.
