AWA Tuesday Talk: Conservation in West Africa – Lessons from another culture

Mar 15 2016 - 7:00pm

Conservation in West Africa Poster

As a Game Warden in Ghana, West Africa, Bob Jamieson was a CUSO volunteer and has been involved in West African conservation for many years.Ghana is a unique part of Africa, where conservation is driven by tribal cultures, and not by European concepts of how conservation actions should occur.  How that has played out is fascinating. Welcome to Ghana and their form of conservation. Prepare to have your assumptions and thinking on wilderness and conservation challenged at the most fundamental level.

  • Talk starts at 7:00 PM (doors open at 6:30PM)
  • Tickets: $5.00
