The AEN facilitates dialogue both within the Environmental Non-Governmental Organization (ENGO) community; and between ENGOs and government and quasi-governmental institutions.
AEN co-ordinates ENGO participation in Alberta Government and other multi-stakeholder consultations, working groups, and conferences. This includes selecting delegates for consultations & other initiatives, and publishing notices of consultation opportunities.
AEN also facilitates communication & discussion amongst its members groups. AEN supports the work of issue-specific Caucuses & Working Groups by providing resources for face-to-face meetings and conference calls and tools for electronic communications.
