The Environmental Sustainability Coordinator is responsible for initiating, implementing, and monitoring an Environmental Sustainability Plan that assures the City will remain a good steward of the City assets.  This position will assist administration and Council to adequately investigate environmental sustainability initiatives and opportunities.  Wage:  $61,593.00 - $78,483.06 per year.  Competition closes Friday, April 9, 2010 at 12:00 noon.

Function/Purpose

This position is responsible for acting as a resource for environmental programming in Red Deer, which includes conducting research, developing and implementing programs, communicating environmental messages, and responding to inquiries.

Salary: $65,000 ‐ $75,000 per year, depending on qualifications
Job Start Date: April 1, 2010
Term: Full‐time, two‐year term with possible extension

Position Profile

The Marketing & Communications Coordinator is a strategic-thinking, self-starter who is responsible for initiating and managing the marketing and communications activities for Green Calgary. The Coordinator assesses and coordinates the implementation of Green Calgary’s marketing and communication priorities with the objective of raising Green Calgary’s profile in the community and promoting Green Calgary programs to specific audiences. The position requires the development of tools and materials that will effectively communicate Green Calgary’s mandate, activities, and impacts to our members, the public, potential partners, and financial supporters. The Marketing & Communications Coordinator works collaboratively with Green Calgary colleagues and volunteers with specialized skills.
