Inside Education™ is a leading non-profit, natural resources and environment education society. Our award-winning work connects formal education to science, technology and environment issues. We reach over 25,000 students each year, in over 100 rural and urban communities across Alberta and beyond. We also support educators in the K-12 school system with an extensive range of curriculum-relevant programs and services related to Alberta’s forests, energy and water resources. This year we are celebrating our 25^th anniversary of leadership in environmental education!

 Opportunity

We have a full-time, spring seasonal position for a 2-month term to support the delivery of wetlands education programs in northern Alberta. Based from our Edmonton office, the successful candidate will be involved in the direct delivery of information related to Alberta’s wetland ecosystems to school children through classroom presentations and outdoor field trips at various sites across the province. Due to the nature of our work throughout the province, regular travel and occasional overtime is required.

Full-time Permanent – 35 hrs wkly

The Environmental Sustainability Coordinator is responsible for initiating, implementing, and monitoring an Environmental Sustainability Plan that assures the City will remain a good steward of the City assets.  This position will assist administration and Council to adequately investigate environmental sustainability initiatives and opportunities.  Wage:  $61,593.00 - $78,483.06 per year.  Competition closes Friday, April 9, 2010 at 12:00 noon.

Function/Purpose

This position is responsible for acting as a resource for environmental programming in Red Deer, which includes conducting research, developing and implementing programs, communicating environmental messages, and responding to inquiries.

Salary: $65,000 ‐ $75,000 per year, depending on qualifications

Term: Full‐time, two‐year term with possible extension

Teams of a dozen or more motivated and energetic young people, aged 18 to 30, will set off on cycling and performing tours in 2010. You can be one of them! As a tour member you will share an incredible experience as they live as a mobile sustainable community. You will cycle from performance to performance, connect with communities along the route, brave the elements, and explore all the ups and downs of directly addressing environmental and social justice issues through your everyday actions.

The Opportunity

The successful applicant would develop, lead and deliver an innovative environmental program focusing on ecological health and adaptive management by establishing long-term research plots and benchmarking reclamation efforts within the Eagle Point – Blue Rapids Parks System.
