The Environmental Sustainability Coordinator is responsible for initiating, implementing, and monitoring an Environmental Sustainability Plan that assures the City will remain a good steward of the City assets.  This position will assist administration and Council to adequately investigate environmental sustainability initiatives and opportunities.  Wage:  $61,593.00 - $78,483.06 per year.  Competition closes Friday, April 9, 2010 at 12:00 noon.

Function/Purpose

This position is responsible for acting as a resource for environmental programming in Red Deer, which includes conducting research, developing and implementing programs, communicating environmental messages, and responding to inquiries.

Salary: $65,000 ‐ $75,000 per year, depending on qualifications

Teams of a dozen or more motivated and energetic young people, aged 18 to 30, will set off on cycling and performing tours in 2010. You can be one of them! You will cycle from performance to performance, connect with communities along the route, brave the elements, and explore all the ups and downs of directly addressing environmental and social justice issues through your everyday actions.

The Opportunity

The Parks Council is seeking a knowledgeable, passionate and proactive individual to develop, lead and deliver an innovative “Parks Watch Program” for the Eagle Point Provincial Park and Blue Rapids Provincial Recreation Area located just outside of Drayton Valley, Alberta.
