Calgary Environmental Education Tours presents: Rethink Energy!

On Friday December 7th, for only $7, take part in a tour of SAIT's Green Building Technologies lab and current projects, followed by a post-tour workshop and dinner at the CommunityWise Resource Centre. Speakers from diverse organizations in Calgary will present their experiences working in the field of renewable energy. The next Watershed Ambassador Breakfast will share the history of paddling down the Red Deer River during the times of the Canadian Fur Trade (1779 - 1821). Warm up with a hot breakfast as the winter approaches and enjoy some great stories of the Red Deer River's pioneer paddlers!

Presenter: Peter Allen is an Albertan and experienced canoeist who is very knowledgeable of western Canadian history; specifically, the Canadian Fur Trade of the North West Company and the Hudson's Bay Company. Read more »

In the US, 50% to 60% of frogs are malformed probably because of chemical contamination. How can we avoid the same fate in Alberta? Brian Eaton is a herpetologist working with Alberta Innovates. In this talk, he discusses the benefits of his work as to industrial development, forestry regulations, wetland assessments and tar sands development.
