Books Provide Details on Environment and Inequality in
Canada
When Bob Lovelace set out to write about the struggle of his people against
uranium exploration in Ontario, he wrote it from a Canadian maximum security

Please join us for a free and lively discussion of important issues
facing us today. The goal of the Sustainable Calgary Book Club is to
share books and discussions that help us understand the world and our
place in it in a different way. This can change the way we experience
the world and the way we act in our day-to-day lives, opening new
possibilities for environmental sustainability, social justice and
peace. Last year we launched the book club and it has been a great
opportunity to chat about issues. Feel free to join us and drop in -
even if you have not read the book.

Dry Spring: The Coming Water Crisis of North America by Chris Wood
Facilitated by Noel Keough, founder and director of Sustainable Calgary
Dry Spring is about the coming water crisis and what we need to do to prevent it. Woods focuses on the U.S. Southwest, B.C.’s Okanagan, and the Great Lakes area as case studies in the coming scarcity. He explains how even as the world dries, some parts are getting more violently stormy. And he describes inspiring choices by which we can save this precious resource for our future.
