RePower Alberta Green Jobs Presentation

On Thursday, May 20th, Greenpeace and Sierra Club Prairie are teaming up to bring a message of green jobs and a green collar economy to Fort Saskatchewan.

The Alberta tour entitled "Repower Alberta: It's time to build the green economy" will see a panel of presenters talking about the growing economic and community benefits of moving to a green economy and start laying the stepping stones for how to get there. Read more »

'A River Runs Through It’ - Perspectives Panel on the South Saskatchewan River Basin

At last week’s SEAWA conference, Hydrologist Richard Clissold made it very clear with his statement “We’re in a desert here” in Medicine Hat and it’s getting drier every day. Water management is becoming an increasingly important issue in Alberta, particularly in the South Saskatchewan River Basin where we have seen extremely low flows with growing community and industrial demands.

World Water Issues Panel Discussion

Nuclear Power in Alberta: What You Need to Know

A Public Forum open to all interested parties to discuss issues related to nuclear power development in Alberta. The Environmental Research and Studies Centre has commissioned a group of social scientists to develop a synthesis report on the state of social-scientific knowledge pertaining to nuclear power development. The authors of the report will share their findings with forum participants, and a diverse set of discussants who have read the report will present their feedback. All participants will then have an opportunity to engage in dialogue with presenters and discussants during the proceedings.
