U of A Sustainability Awareness Week

From October 19 to 23, 2015, there are over 55 free workshops, tours and events across four campuses: it’s Sustainability Awareness Week (SAW), your chance to explore social, environmental and economic challenges and solutions. Inline image 1

Events take place across three University of Alberta campuses, inlcuding North Campus, Augustana Campus and Campus Saint-Jean as well as MacEwan University. REAP’s 6th Annual Food For Thought

Mingle with chefs and farmers at 20+ food and beverage sampling stations, and enjoy cooking demos, community displays, prizes, live music and kids activities. Emerald Day Community Reception

Please join us at Emerald Day in Fort McMurray and BE INSPIRED!

Emerald Day is a community environmental showcase event, with displays, talks and networking.  This community reception event will feature a special presentation by Simon Jackson, one of Time Magazine's 60 Heroes for the Planet.  Simon will be speaking at about 6:15pm and will then be available for questions and connecting.

Emerald Day is presented by Syncrude Canada, with support from Newalta and organized by the Alberta Emerald Foundation.  The Alberta Emerald Foundation is a provincial charity committed to recognize, celebrate and inspire environmental excellence, best known for hosting the annual Emerald Awards.

Emerald Day is free to attend, and the community reception event includes complimentary hors d'oeuvres and bar.
