Student Sustainability Summit

This event is open only to current students attending an Albertan post-secondary institution. There are two free keynote presentations that are open to the general public: Turning up the empowerment dial: Community engagement in addressing climate disruption and Engaging communities in energy strategy development: A decision science perspective. Calling all students! Don't miss the fourth annual Student Sustainability Summit, taking place January 24 and 25, 2014 at the University of Alberta. This conference strives to provide students with the tools and resources needed to accomplish sustainable change by providing opportunities to develop relevant leadership and employability skills. The summit is hosted by the Office of SustainabilitySustain SU and the Students' Umbrella for Social Justice.

This year's theme is “Power & Prosperity: The relationship between energy systems and communities.” This theme looks at the varied and complex opportunities and challenges that result from energy production and consumption, and provides for an in depth exploration of the environmental, economic and socio-political consequences of fossil fuels in our province and beyond.
