2018 AEN Spring Assembly

Jun 8 2018 - 10:00am - 4:30pm
Jun 9 2018 - 9:00am - 4:00pm

AEN is focused on building capacity to preserve and protect Alberta’s environment. We work to support and amplify AEN members’ work. Over the past two years, AEN members have discussed strategies to optimise the impact of the Network and its member organizations. This spring we will gather over 2 days to put these strategies into practice.

AEN member groups work on a broad range of inter-connected issues covering a wide geographic area. The urgency of our environmental objectices requires that we work together strategically and effectively. Meeting in person—knowing each another, our environmental imperatives, and how to support each other—is very important to actualising collective action and impact. To this end we have organized a program that provide practical instruction, knowledge exchange, and skill building to guide and focus our collective purpose. We strongly encourage you to join your fellow environmental advocates on June 8 and 9 to contribute your unique perspective and expertise.

Field Trip - Sunday, May 1, 2016

Join us for a field trip to the Rachel Agnes Hayes 2 Property. It is a 169 ha (418 acres) property owned by the Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC) and is located on Boss Hill, north of Stettler. Prior to NCC’s purchase of the property in 2014, the property was a ranch used for cattle grazing. The property is a nice example of native Aspen Parkland with freshwater and saline wetlands, aspen forests, shrublands, and native grasslands. There are also beautiful views of Buffalo Lake from the west side of the property. We will meet at 10:00am and the walk will last about 2 hours. This trip will be led by Alan Dodd. Read more »
