Got Thirst? Fight for Water Allocation Rights
For the first time in 12 years, the provincial government plans to review the current water rights system on how water is allocated in the province, and more importantly, who gets access. In a province where big industry lives strong, it is very important that we as non-millionaires make sure our water rights, and the water rights of our lakes and rivers are protected.
This review of our water allocation system is an opportunity for us to take action to ensure that our water is managed in a way that ensures our human rights and environmental needs are prioritized before industrial and commercial wants. Our decision makers need to hear from you to demand that water is too precious to be left up to the market to manage and that we need a strong, enforceable water management plan that protects and prioritizes the rights of our communities and the environment!
